QUALIFYING & ENTRY INFORMATION

The information below is tentative and may be subject to change. Please refer to the prize list when published for any updates.

HUNTER QUALIFICATION
Qualifying will be based on the USEF National Horse of the Year points in Channel I and Channel II competitions, or money won where applicable, earned by horses from their best 15 shows starting on or after August 30, 2022, through shows starting on or before August 29, 2023. Point totals will be verified with USEF.
Approximately fifteen (15) Horses will be accepted in each of the following sections:

Green Hunter 3’6”
Green Hunter 3’9”
Green Conformation
High Performance Conformation
High Performance
Small Junior 15 & under
Small Junior 16-17
Large Junior 15 & under

Large Junior 16-17
Junior Hunter 3’3” 15 & under
Junior Hunter 3’3” 16-17
Amateur Owner 35 & under
Amateur Owner over 35
Amateur Owner 3’3” 35 & under
Amateur Owner 3’3” over 35

If any section does not achieve the desired number of horses, then another section may be adjusted accordingly to reach the desired number of entries. If the qualifying list is exhausted and spaces are still available in a section, entries received after the closing date will be considered on a first-come-first-served basis. Additional entries may be accepted only if time allows.

Please note that the 2022 National Horse Show Champions in each of the four Junior Hunter sections, the four Amateur Owner Hunter sections, the High Performance Conformation Hunter section and the High Performance Hunter section automatically qualify for the 2023 National Horse Show in the height and age section in which it was champion, if eligible, and are included in the total number to be accepted in each section as indicated.

CHILDREN’S & ADULT HUNTER CLASSICS
Entries in classes 25 Children’s Hunter Classic and 26 Adult Amateur Hunter Classic will be accepted on a first come first serve basis. One horse per rider. No qualifying process needed. Please enter early!

JUNIOR / AMATEUR JUMPER QUALIFICATION
Entries in the Junior / Amateur Jumper Section will be limited to 40 horses based on the following qualifying criteria: Twenty (20) horses will qualify based on money won in High Junior Jumper classes held at USEF-recognized shows and at FEI sanctioned Junior or Young Rider classes starting on or after August 30, 2022, through shows starting on or before August 29, 2023, and twenty (20) horse will qualify based on money won in High Amateur Jumper classes held at USEF-recognized shows and at FEI sanctioned Young Rider classes starting on or after August 30, 2022, through shows starting on or before August 29, 2023. If one section does not achieve the desired number of entries, then the other section may be adjusted accordingly to reach the desired number of entries. The Organizing Committee will reserve to themselves two (2) “wild card” invitations. Horses competing in the International Jumper Section are not eligible. Limited to two (2) horses per rider.

ENTRY SUBMISSION

HUNTER, JUNIOR / AMATEUR JUMPER AND ALL EQUITATION**
ENTRIES CLOSE WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 6, 2023. Post entries will only be accepted if time and space in the schedule allow.

ASPCA MACLAY REGIONALS AND AREA CHAMPIONSHIP INVITATIONS:
** Riders who compete and place 1st, 2nd or 3rd in any of the ASPCA Maclay Regionals, Hamel Foundation 3’3″ Equitation Area Championships or the Taylor Harris Insurance Services Adult Equitation Area Championships will receive an invitation to compete in their respective Finals, if not otherwise qualified, provided they have points from competing in Maclay, Hamel or THIS classes in the same competition year.

**These riders will have 48 hours from issuance of the invitation to accept or decline.**

INTERNATIONAL OPEN JUMPER
Rider nominations close Friday, September 15, 2023.

ALL ENTRIES MUST BE SUBMITTED ELECTRONICALLY: The National Horse Show will use the Show Management System On-line Entry Platform to accept electronic entries and to manage the qualification process for all competitors. Show Management System’s™ $5 Entry Processing Fee is included in the application fee and enables exhibitors to submit an electronic entry, to receive e-mails regarding their qualification and wait list status, and to use credit cards to pay their entry and show fees and to order optional items. All competitors must submit their show entries on-line at https://entries.showmanagementsystem.com

All hunter and jumper entries must be accompanied by a non-refundable $150 application fee. Entry and stall fees will be invoiced. Those fees will be invoiced with the acceptance letters to qualified entries.

Acceptance letters will be emailed in mid-September. Payment in full as billed on the acceptance invoice must be submitted electronically by the specified date; entries not paid in full by the specified date will not be permitted to show.

Taylor Harris Adult Equitation Finals will take place on Thursday, October 26, 2023
Hamel Foundation 3’3” Equitation Finals will take place on Sunday, October 29, 2023
ASPCA/NHS Maclay Championship will take place on Sunday, November 5, 2023
