Lexington, Ky. – Nov. 3, 2016 – The USHJA Foundation is pleased to announce the CP National Horse Show will host USHJA Foundation night on Thursday, Nov. 3. The evening will feature an exciting Clear Round Challenge during the $130,000 CP Grand Prix International Open Jumpers, presented by Suncast® Commerical™, where spectators can be part of the class by pledging any amount they choose per clear round during the grand prix to support the foundation.
“We are honored to be part of the CP National Horse Show in this way and look forward to spectators’ support,” said Jennifer Burger, USHJA Foundation president. “The Clear Round Challenge adds more excitement to the class and provides a great way to give back to this sport we all love.”
The Clear Round Challenge is simple: spectators choose a dollar amount to pledge for every clear round earned in the class to make a charitable donation to the USHJA Foundation. Anyone who wants to participate can do so by texting JUMPER to 91999, clicking the link that is texted back and completing the form on their phone. Following the event, all donors will receive receipts directly to their phones with the tax deductible amount of their donation.
All 2016 USHJA Foundation donors, including those who participate in the Clear Round Challenge during the CP National Horse Show, are invited to the VIP party following the grand prix on Thursday night. This exclusive event features dancing and refreshments at the Gracie Street Garden in the Alltech Arena.
Every donation will go to support the USHJA Foundation’s mission to advance and promote the hunter/jumper discipline by financially or otherwise supporting the programs of the United States Hunter Jumper Association, Inc. and other initiatives which support the mission of the USHJA. For more information about the foundation, visit www.ushjafoundation.org.
General admission tickets for Friday are only $5 and $10 on Saturday and Sunday, and can be purchased here. Children 12 and under are admitted free.
With over $800,000 in prize money offered, the 2016 edition of the CP National Horse Show has again been designated a CSI4*-W event by the FEI. The international Open Jumpers will compete for almost half a million dollars in prize money, while the top rated hunter divisions have a total purse of $195,000. Meanwhile, $130,000 in total is offered to the Amateur-Owner and U25 Jumper divisions.
