Lexington, KY – June 1, 2017 – The National Horse Show Association is pleased to announce that Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital returns as the Official Veterinarians, Farriers and the Veterinary Pharmacy of the CP National Horse Show, for an unprecedented seventh year in a row. The much-anticipated event that features hunter, jumper, and equitation competition is scheduled to take place in the Alltech Arena at the Kentucky Horse Park from October 31-November 5, 2017.
Based in Lexington, Ky., Rood & Riddle is a full-service equine hospital established in 1986 as a referral center for horses requiring specialized medical and surgical care. Today, Rood & Riddle is known and respected throughout the world for its innovative and highly skilled treatment of horses and has expanded operations to include historic racing center, Saratoga Springs, NY and the winter horse capital of the world, Wellington, Florida. Competitors from the National Horse Show who travel to Florida for the winter can receive care at Rood and Riddle’s state-of-the-art facility in Wellington, which includes a complete surgical suite and imaging center.
The hospital facilities at Rood & Riddle offer a full range of services including surgery, internal medicine, advanced diagnostic imaging, a focused Podiatry Center and a specialized Reproductive Center. The practice also provides ambulatory services (on-site care) for breeding farms, sport horse facilities, horse shows and events, with a variety of services, including emergency and preventative care, general reproduction, lameness, radiography, podiatry, and internal medicine.
Rood & Riddle Veterinarians will be on hand daily at the CP National Horse Show to help competitors in the event of an emergency or with routine veterinary care.

With $810,000 in prize money offered, this year’s show has been designated a CSI4* show by the FEI. The International Open Jumper division will compete for almost half a million dollars in prize money, while the top-rated hunter sections have a total purse of $195,000. Amateur-Owner and U25 Jumpers will compete for a cool $130,000 in total winnings.
Founded in New York in 1883, the National Horse Show is America’s oldest indoor horse show and is firmly established as a major fixture on the national and international sports and social event calendars. For equestrian sport fans who cannot make it to Kentucky to see the action, the CP National Horse Show will be live streamed on EQSportsNet, with the Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping Lexington broadcast live on FEI TV.
