Lexington, KY – Sept. 13, 2023 – The National Horse Show is proud to announce a new Junior Hunter Grant to support upcoming hunter riders that demonstrate a need for financial aid. This grant will provide the ability to further their show experience and training.
The Grant is funded by the National Horse Show Endowment, which was established in 2022 in honor of the late-Chairman, Mason Phelps. The grant was sponsored by the Endowment Committee members, Clementina Brown, Margaret H. Duprey, and Amanda Pollack. The Committee believes that this Grant empowers the Endowment’s Mission Statement:
The National Horse Show Endowment was established to sustain the legacy and prestige of the National Horse Show and its patrons. The endowment will focus on education and talent development for young riders in underrepresented divisions.

The 140th annual National Horse Show is set to take place at the Kentucky Horse Park October 25 to November 5, 2023. This year’s event will highlight feature classes including:

- $50,000 National Horse Show Hunter Classic
- $25,000 National Horse Show Junior/Amateur Jumper Grand Prix
- ASPCA Maclay National Championship
- Hamel Family Foundation NHS 3’3″Equitation Championship
- Taylor Harris insurance Services Adult Equitation Championships
